Alongside acting, in 2014, I began to make my own work. I was supported as artist in residence at BatterseaArtsCentre, received commissions from IdeasTap to create a short dance film screened at the BFI in 2015. I became Associate Artist at DanceCity Newcastle in 2016 and was commissioned by Random Acts North to create dance film ‘Herd’ which premiered on Channel 4 television in 2017.

In 2018 I created and performed Dietrich:Natural Duty; a one (wo)man drag/theatre show based around the life of Marlene Dietrich. Commissioned by Northern Stage and Curious, the piece premiered at Vault Festival London before running at Pleasance Courtyard for the duration of Edinburgh Fringe. It has gone on to tour Wilton’s Music Hall, SoHo Playhouse NYC, Amsterdam Storytelling Festival and UK festivals Curious and Homotopia, Liverpool. The show ran twice at the Adelaide Fringe ’19/20, winning the Critics Circle Award and Pick of the Fringe.
